Where we work, and why the town changes the roof
This is not one climate pretending to be twelve towns. It is a genuine snowbelt at the north end, an unusually mild and unusually windy lakeshore at the south end, and a divide running through the middle somewhere around Woodstock. Every snowfall figure below is measured at the nearest station, not estimated.

Stratford
The snowiest town we work in, and the busiest. Not a coincidence — 218 cm a year is a load, and loads go looking for the weak detail.

Goderich
Snow off the lake in winter, wind off it all year, and a town square that has had an F3 come through it. Nobody here needs convincing that weather is a design input.

St Thomas
Middling snow, plenty of rain, and a railway-era housing stock carrying more roof junctions per house than anywhere else on the corridor.

Sarnia
Half the snow of Stratford, ninety minutes away, and considerably more wind. Here the spec follows the wind.

Woodstock
The middle of this corridor in every sense, which makes it the one town where both failure modes turn up in roughly equal numbers.

Chatham
The mildest winter we work in and the most violent summer. Least snow, most wind — and the roof gets built for the second one.

Leamington
The southernmost place we work, with the mildest winter in the province and absolutely nothing between you and Lake Erie.

Listowel
Squarely in the squall corridor, where the winter problem is not any single storm — it is that the snow never quite leaves.

Strathroy
Further into the snowbelt than most people expect, which regularly catches out anyone who moved here from London.

Tillsonburg
The wettest town we work in by annual total, which makes drainage rather than snow load the argument worth having on your house.

Ingersoll
A middle-of-the-corridor climate on a town split cleanly between two building eras, and the two need entirely different work.

Simcoe
Mild winters, unmild storms, and a county full of farmhouses that were extended in three directions before anybody thought about the roofline.
